UKRAINE
The conflict in Ukraine has caused many, many people to flee their homes and join the other refugees in the western part of Ukraine. To help with the problems there our church is helping to support Sasha & Nastia Nikolaenko financially on a monthly basis, and Let's Love via sending shoes, coats, and blankets.
Sasha is a graduate of the Ukrainian Bible Institute. He and Nastia were married in 2011 and have two little girls, Mia and Slava. Because of the unrest in the east, Sasha and Nastia were forced to flee their home in Donetsk and have settled in the city of Kharkov, where they work alongside Brandon and Katie Price. Sasha is part of the Let’s Love foundation. Originally based in the city of Donetsk, Let’s Love worked to help orphans and troubled young people in that region of Ukraine. Let’s Love now focuses on helping the millions who have been displaced because of the rebel conflict. Sasha leads the humanitarian aid center based in Kharkov, which provides food, clothing, and diapers to families in need. He also leads children’s Bible classes at a refugee camp near the outskirts of the city as well as participates in the life of the church body in Kharkov. Both Sasha and Nastia work in camps throughout Ukraine in the summer. You can follow Sasha’s work on Facebook at facebook.com/alexander.nikolaenko.961 |
